The rock terraced front entrance to this garden has a unique, deer-resistant wall consisting of scored, wisteria-trellised columns connected by cable rail.
Elemental
A custom gate and mermaid mosaic retaining wall greet you as you ascend to the upper gardens where 129 custom mosaic tiles pave a spiral walkway, telling their story with broken ceramic pieces and recycled beads and gemstones.
Flora
Plants selected for surrounding garden areas are oak tree tolerant, California natives and drought tolerant plants, replacing a front lawn that never thrived under the canopy of the existing oak tree.
Transformation
After digging a channel, the mosaic tiles are secured in a concrete base. The large garden pavers are set in water permeable sand, a sustainable solution which allows for adequate hillside drainage.
